Business Partnerships

Schools, communities and businesses throughout the nation have successfully partnered to develop dynamic high school academies. These partnerships have strengthened their schools, increased their economic attractiveness, and injected their economies with more homegrown skilled and technical workers while fostering multiple start-up businesses. Now Lincoln has committed to become the next center of economic vitality with the development of The Career Academy and the potential to create 500+ high-skilled and in-demand graduates each and every year beginning in the 2015-16 school year.

The Career Academy unites three cultures to offer exciting opportunities for our student’s minds and our community’s economic vitality.  Southeast Community College, Lincoln Public Schools and local business partners working together will create an environment that encourages career discovery and success.  The goal of this three-way collaboration is to design coursework and projects that will inspire and engage student curiosity and learning.  So in order to make The Career Academy truly successful, we need you to be the cornerstone of experience for students.

“The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce views the Career Academy as a vital component to bridging the gap in our workforce needs. We see the connection of business and education coming together today, building the Lincoln of our future.”
Wendy Birdsall
President, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce
