2016-17 Green Schools Recognition Program Results

A new opportunity was available to schools this year, the Green Schools Recognition Program (GSRP). This program provided schools with a long list of green activities to choose from and complete throughout the year. Each activity has a point value, and funds can be earned for reaching certain levels of achievement. We are thrilled to announce that over 250 green activities were reported from 10 schools for the 2016-17 school year. This program is not a competition, and all schools are eligible for recognition and funding. Funding can go toward an approved school sustainability project. Just to name a few examples, funds may be used to purchase gardening tools, litter clean up supplies, or materials for hosting an Earth Day celebration.
