What is the Students of Sustainability Summit?

The Students of Sustainability (S. O. S.) Summit is an annual gathering of LPS high school students that have an interest in environmental sustainability efforts.

This event started simply as an opportunity for student leaders across the community to connect with each other and share what activities they were already working on at their school. 

It has grown to include a focus on inspiring climate action promoting student efforts presenting a variety of environmental perspectives building community connections

Get Involved

This summit will feature a Student Advisory Committee made up of a small group of passionate students from schools and programs across the district. These students will meet with the sustainability department and help provide input on theme, project selection, and outreach! 

For this group, we are seeking students who have presented a strong interest and leadership in sustainability, environmental activism, sustainable art, gardening, environmental science, or similar topics. (Apply Below)

The 4th annual Students of Sustainability Summit will incorporate a Student Sustainability Showcase to highlight student-led projects and initiatives happening across the district. 

Topics for showcases can range from environmental science projects, to activism work, gardening and outdoor projects or any other sustainability-related topic. Creativity is encouraged! 

All interested high school students are highly encouraged to apply below!

Students of Sustainability (S. O. S.) Network

The Students of Sustainability (S.O.S.) Network is a space for LPS high school students to connect with each other and share the student-led environmental activities and initiatives already happening at our schools AND explore possibilities for future efforts. If you’re a student interested in connecting with your fellow sustainability invested peers, the class code for the google classroom is fulgdoh.
