Climate Action with Youth Leaders

The Sustainability Team was able to celebrate Earth Day with an amazing group of young leaders in the community! On Friday, April 22^nd the Youth Leadership Lincoln cohort had their final seminar for the year and since it was also Earth Day, a portion of the day was facilitated by the LPS Sustainability Team. Students learned about the City of Lincoln Climate Action Plan and focused on five action areas that could relate to their school: Energy, Transportation, Waste, Local Food, and Nature. Students were then able to pick a topic and propose a climate action plan for their school. Many great ideas were shared that day including more carpooling to and from school, growing healthy foods in school gardens, and installing solar panels!
