Community environmental education partners

From online resources to guest speakers, there are so many organizations in the Lincoln community that support environmental and sustainability literacy efforts. This Environmental Education List includes descriptions of activities and resources that are available through some of our local organizations and partners. Whether it’s a lesson in the classroom, or a green team field trip, we hope to connect our schools to the many wonderful opportunities for environmental education in our community. Also, many of the activities from the LPS Green Schools Recognition Program could be achieved through a partnership with one of these organizations. Here are just a few examples…
  • Invite a guest speaker in to talk to students about recycling, energy or another sustainability topic
  • Celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting or other activity
  • Hold a class outdoors and include an outdoor lesson
  • Start a garden or plan a cleanup/planting day for your existing garden
  • Plan and register a Green Apple Day of Service activity
Check out the LIST and see how your school could benefit from working with one of these organizations.
