17th Annual Cans4Books Recycling Drive Results
The results are in for the 17th annual Cans4Books recycling drive. Thank you to all of the students, staff, friends and neighbors that participated. Almost $900 of books will be added to school bookshelves, and over 67,000 cans were recycled! Congratulations to our top schools and prize winners:
1st Place – Huntington Elementary
579 pounds of cans recycled, $205 donated
Receives additional $75 prize
2nd Place – Lakeview Elementary
317 pounds of cans recycled, $115 donated
Receives additional $50 prize
3rd Place – Randolph Elementary
190 pounds of cans recycled, $70 donated
Receives additional $25 prize
The Cans4Books program has now reached over $40,000 donated to school libraries for the purchase of books since 2001. Over 3 million aluminum cans have also been recycled over the lifetime of the program.
