Scanning Paper Documents in LPS
Many paper forms and documents are returned to schools every day. If you need to convert that document to a digital format, you have many supported options.
Xerox MFD
For the best quality and secure workflow, the Xerox MFDs in your school office and workrooms should be your first choice when scanning a document.
Never use a personal device to scan or take pictures of student information.
Other Scanning Hardware Options
If you scan frequently enough that a dedicated device at your desk would be a benefit, consider these alternatives to the Xerox MFDs in your building.
IPEVO Document Camera (~$99)
LPS BUYING GUIDE: #2860
These devices work natively with Mac, Windows and Chromebook. An IPEVO document camera allows high resolution capture of documents directly to your computer, eliminating the need to hold papers awkwardly in front of the laptop camera.
You may already have access to one of these in a building, as they are common in classrooms. Borrow one from a teacher to see if this lower cost option offers a workable way to have a camera dedicated to scanning documents.
