Printing/Copying: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to print?

It depends on where you ‘send’ your print.  Laser Printer, MFD, Distirct Print Center?  Click this link for a document explaining costs.

I can’t remember how to change the toner or clear a jam in the MFDs.

You can reiew these processes by watching the video tutorials in this link: http://misc.lps.org/misc/post/index.cfm?collection=121

How do I get more supplies for the MFDs?

You should always have a spare in your building.  Talk to your Key Operator to find out where they are in your building.  As soon as your spare is in use, submit a Helpdesk Ticket with a toner requestand supply refreshers will be delivered to your building.

How do I fax using our system?

You can fax from an MFD or from your email. Please click on the link below to access a copy of the faxing documentation for your MFD.

How can I print from my computer to the LPS MFDs?

Your computer needs to be set up to print to the MFD.

First you must add the printer, then you must type in your accounting codes on your printer to make sure that the print will be processed by the MFD.  You may find video tutorials on this process by going to the Video Tutorial Web page.

Can I print to the print center from home?

Yes. You can. You will need a way to convert your document to a PDF file, but once that is done you can login to the LPS Print Center from anywhere and submit the document for printing.

Can I cancel a job sent to the print center?

That depends on how quickly you contact them.  As soon as your job is submitted, it is possible that the Print Center staff will start processing it.  If you wish to cancel the job, please call the district Helpdesk and press 1 to talk to the Print Center directly.  You will need to share your name, the title of your job and the time that you submitted it and an attempt will be made to cancel the job.

Can we use re-run paper through the MFD? Can we use recycled paper in the MFD?

Yes, as long as the paper is in good shape (not ripped, torn, worn, etc)

What transparencies can we use with the LPS MFDs?
