Educare Lincoln Welcomes New School Director, Katlyn Hoggatt

We are excited to announce Katlyn Hoggatt as our new School Director. With over a decade at Educare and experience as a foster parent to two children in our program, Katlyn brings a unique perspective and deep commitment to early childhood education.

A Journey Rooted in Compassion

Katlyn’s career began in college, volunteering at a domestic violence shelter. Inspired by the families she met, she transitioned to teaching with Head Start before joining Educare Lincoln. Her roles, from classroom teacher to Mentor Teacher, have consistently centered on the needs of children and families, emphasizing the importance of social-emotional development in early education.

Transitioning to Leadership

Taking on the School Director role felt like a natural step for Katlyn. “I realized I could lead a program that trains the next generation of early childhood educators,” she says. Her vision includes raising service quality by implementing innovative strategies that meet the community’s diverse needs.

Personal Insights from Foster Parenting

As a foster parent to two children, Katlyn understands the importance of individualized support. “Everyone faces different challenges,” she explains, and this drives her focus on building trusting relationships with children and families, especially those from diverse backgrounds.

Supporting Foster Families

Katlyn is eager to explore initiatives to support foster families at Educare Lincoln. While plans are still in development, she aims to enhance access to quality childcare for foster families and others facing trauma. “Quality childcare is a pressing need, and we must address it together,” she says.

Looking Ahead

Katlyn’s immediate goal is to assess and improve the care and education at Educare Lincoln, ensuring each child receives personalized attention. In five years, she envisions Educare as a leader in early childhood education, known for its partnerships and exceptional services.

Please join us in welcoming Katlyn to this vital role!
