Lincoln Public Schools families,

We hope your summer is off to a great start! Lincoln Public Schools will email you on the last Friday of every month all year to inform you of important deadlines and reminders.

Do we have the most up-to-date contact information for you? Please get in touch with your child’s school if you have moved to ensure you receive important information over the summer.

Have you seen the updated student calendar for the 2024-2025 school year? Changes include:

  • All K-12 students will have the same calendar.
  • No more early release days for students.
  • There are six days that students will not have school so staff can plan: Sept. 3, Oct. 15, Nov. 5, Jan. 3, Feb. 18, and Apr. 21.
  • Fall break is moved earlier (Oct. 11-15) to ensure 42 days per quarter.

You can find the official 2024-2025 Student Calendar here.

Summer student meals and Electronic Benefit Transfer information

Summer EBT

This summer, the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT) will provide eligible school-age children with $120 in benefits to help keep them fed when school is out. These funds can be used to buy select food items during the summer period of May 16 through August 31.

More information can be found on this website to see if your family is eligible.

Free student meal locations for summer 2024

Thanks to the federally funded Summer Food Service Program, children aged 18 or younger get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow during summer when they do not eat at school.

Summer locations are listed on our website with dates and times, or Text FOOD or COMIDA to 304304 or call 211 or use an interactive map located at NoKidHungry.

REMINDER: School physicals

It is time to schedule your students’ school physical for next school year! All students benefit from an annual wellness exam.

Families of kindergarten and seventh grade students for the 2024-2025 school year need to provide evidence of a physical examination completed by a physician, physician assistant, or an advance practice registered nurse to the school your child attends – or will attend.  There are required immunizations needed for school that are given to kindergarteners and seventh grade students during their school physical.

All students must be current with all school required immunizations and provide proof to the school. There are many resources available and the school nurse can assist you if you have questions.

Please note that high school athletic physicals need to be completed after May 1st to be eligible for the 2024-2025 sports season.
