Welcome to the Lincoln Public School Music home page. Lincoln Public Schools offers a comprehensive preK-12 music curriculum. This curriculum provides experiences through continuous and systematic instruction in areas of music congruent with the music section outlined in the Nebraska Fine Arts Standards and National Core Arts Standards.
Purpose
To enrich the lives of ALL students by fostering a sense of community and providing a healthy outlet for self-expression through music.
Vision
The comprehensive, sequential study of music in Lincoln Public Schools will be taught by highly qualified music educators in order to:
- Develop life-long learners, performers and/or supporters of music.
- Facilitate the learning of music literacy and skills
- Inspire academic achievement and artistic excellence
- Foster creativity and expression
- Provide a sense of belonging and community
- Recognize, celebrate, and preserve diverse cultural heritages and perspectives of music

It is the mission of the Lincoln Public Schools Music Department to advocate for all students and provide learning opportunities through the experiences of creating, performing, and responding to music.
