About English Language Learners

English Learners (ELs) are in every building in Lincoln Public Schools, in more and more classrooms every day, enriching our school culture and sharing their own unique experiences. Lincoln Public Schools is proud of its diverse student population and is committed to meeting the needs of these multilingual students at all grade levels. We currently serve approximately 3000 ELs in our K-12 program. Our students and their families represent 152 different countries and over 100 different languages. Our goal is to empower multilingual students and families by creating a welcoming environment that utilizes culturally responsive practices and  relevant content that will equip for success in school, community, and beyond.
