December 4, 2020 LPS Weekly Family Update

Dr. Joel was a guest at the Mayor’s press conference this afternoon, where the topics focused on the return of youth sports and activities starting Monday, and changes to the directions for individuals in quarantine. Those changes will impact our LPS protocols moving forward and are outlined here.

November 27, 2020 LPS Weekly Family Update

It is hard to believe the first semester is nearly over with only three and a half weeks left before winter break. Just a reminder, middle and high school students will return to classes on Monday, Nov. 30. Elementary students will return on Tuesday, Dec. 1 since Monday is an elementary plan day.  Early childhood services will resume on Tuesday, Dec. 1. 

November 20, 2020 LPS Weekly Family Update

We want to remind you there will be no classes next week (Nov. 23-27) for all LPS students. We only have three and a half weeks of school remaining after Thanksgiving break. We are 13 weeks into the school year. This is one of the most challenging school years in the history of Lincoln Public Schools. Our staff have been working at a feverish pace to keep up with the needs of our students, our families and our community. They are dedicated to making this work. Just like many in our community, everyone is putting in extra time and effort where it’s needed – giving 110%.

November 6, 2020 LPS Weekly Family Update

The risk of COVID-19 spread in the city of Lincoln is at a severe level. Today, the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced the COVID-19 risk dial has moved to Red. This is very concerning for us at Lincoln Public Schools, and we continue to meet with the health department to collaborate on our next steps.

Important COVID-19 update 10/26/2020

As part of a regular analysis of data, over the last week our staff reviewed past positive COVID-19 cases. They do this to look for instances where a student or staff member tested positive after close contact in an LPS setting with a person who tested positive for COVID-19. Through this review, we have been able to identify instances of potential COVID-19 spread in our buildings.
