Kindness and Self-Acceptance Challenge

We are excited to share with you about the LPS Wellness focus for quarter three; kindness and self-acceptance. This effort fits well with character education goals, helping students learn about the impact of sharing with those around them.

At this time of year, we can all benefit from some extra light and warmth being spread. Students can be especially tough on themselves in this social media driven world. Helping students realize that they are great just as they are is an important message to reinforce. If your student is on social media, visit with them about what they are seeing
and reality versus perception.

Regarding kindness, we encourage families to consider joining your student in efforts to make our community a kinder place. Each family is unique in what opportunities allow you to build and share kindness, gratitude and giving within your circle or through volunteer activities.

You just may be the recipient of much of your child’s efforts to share kindness or appreciation, so please do what you can to notice the extra efforts they are making and give them a pat on the back. Positive support from family may help make students build these choices into their daily lives. We thank you for your teamwork in building a bright future for your child.
