At Lincoln Public Schools, we believe that your student’s success is built through a strong partnership and shared effort between families and educators. Strategies to Try at Home
Families can continue building their student’s skills for responsible learning, respectful relationships, and problem solving by:
- Practicing daily routines – Reinforce consistency by encouraging your child to follow regular expectations for chores, homework, and bedtime—just like they do at school.
- Talking about problem solving – Ask reflective questions such as:
“What’s another way you could handle that?” or “What might help next time?” - Celebrating effort – Recognize persistence, responsibility, and acts of kindness with meaningful praise: “I noticed how you stuck with that even when it was hard!”
- Using shared language – Talk about what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe. Ask: “What are the expectations at school?” or “How do you show respect for others?”
