PAR – Behavior Framework

The LPS behavior framework is organized into three main components: Prevention, Accountability and Restorative Practices. It is referred to by its acronym: PAR.

• Prevention – Prevention is the intentional planning and implementation of consistent systems and practices that build relationships and community, establish clear expectations and routines, and utilize a mindset of high expectations and high support.
• Accountability – Accountability is a transparent and consistent process that includes a combination of re-teaching skills, repairing harm, appropriate consequences, and communication.
• Restorative – Restorative Practices is a collection of reflective and inclusive processes that focus on proactively building relationships and community, while also addressing harm in a manner that allows for meaningful accountability.

The PAR Framework’s purpose includes:

• Foundational principles of behavior
• Emphasis on the importance of relationships. community, and a positive, supportive environment
• Provide a structured and restorative approach to responding to behavior
• An accountability matrix to increase consistency for students, staff, administrators, and stakeholders
• Evidence-based strategies for prevention, intervention, response, and support
• Resources and practical tools to support implementation
