Jump Code

LPS Jump is a classroom friendly URL shortener. Staff may paste any long web address (URL) into the tool and LPS Jump will return the following resources:

  • A 4 character “Jump Code” that can be used on lps.org,
  • A short url that can be copied/pasted into materials, and
  • A Jump Card that provides easier use by early readers, a visual way to access the original page

Many LPS staff use “Jump Codes” to share resources with students, parents, or other staff. You may see them written at the corner of classroom whiteboards, or on printed handouts.

LPS Jump is unique in that it was created with Kindergarten students in mind. A card (similar to those found in a popular childrens’ game) is also presented that represents your URL. Clicking on simple color/character combinations will also take a young student to the destination.
