About the Parent Advisory Council
The Lincoln Public Schools Parent Advisory Council serves as a channel for direct communication between parent and community groups – and instructional leadership in our school district.
Each school’s parent group, community organization or advisory committee appoints one or more representatives to the council.
The functions of the Parent Advisory Council include hearing about topics of interest, looking at current issues and trends in education on a local and national level, and providing feedback on current decisions or district initiatives.
The Council holds four to six meetings during the school year. Some meetings are devoted to general problem identification sessions, others to reports and discussions of designated topics. Meetings are chaired by Mike Gillotti, Associate Superintendent for Educational Services.
This group plays an important role in connecting with people across our school district, and we are grateful that so many citizens are willing to commit their time and service to our school district.
