Seniors, here are the top three things you should be doing right now…
- Register to attend the October 30th Apply2College event at Northwest. If you missed our first Apply2College event last week, or you still need some help getting those college applications submitted, NOW IS THE TIME! Parents may also register their student to attend this event.
- Submit the 2026-2027 FAFSA form. The FAFSA is now open and you are encouraged to submit your form early for the best opportunity to receive financial aid. Once submitted, be sure you continue to log in to your StudentAid.gov account to check your FAFSA status and update your college list as needed. Remember, colleges must be listed on your FAFSA form in order to receive this information and be able to offer you a financial aid package.
- Review the information provided on the Senior Checklist. This has been posted in your Class of 2026 Google Classroom and contains many important links to information that will help you plan a successful senior year and beyond!
Important Quarter 2 Schedule Information and Reminders. If you still have an incomplete schedule (SEE COUNSELOR instead of a class), school counselors will be available in the Student Success Center for walk-in visits only after finals until 11:30 am on both October 9th and 10th. Student-initiated schedule changes will not be possible after the start of the quarter. Also note the following reminders:
- Always use the Current Schedule tab in Synergy to view your schedule (do not use Grade Book).
- Students who have an incomplete schedule and have not initiated the process for a reduced schedule prior to the end of the quarter will be scheduled in any available class.
- Student-initiated schedule change requests after the start of the school year will only be made for one of the approved reasons:
- A class on the schedule has already been taken and passed.
- To change levels of the same class (with teacher approval).
- To add an elective class that aligns with current post-secondary plans (if openings are available).
Full details regarding schedule change procedures can be found in the Academic Planning Handbook.
