Our first focus program was the Science Focus Program, formerly known as “Zoo School,” which we founded in 1997. Since then, we have expanded to nearly a dozen opportunities, allowing our scholars to choose their passions, communities and futures

LPS Focus Program Open House — Oct 3, 2023

8th–11th grade students and families are encouraged to come to our open house October 3, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Southwest High School (map).

Bay High Information Night — Oct 5 at 5:30 p.m.

Come learn about one of our new focus programs. This event will be at The Bay (2005 Y Street).

Arts & Humanities Info Night — Oct 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Stop by 643 S. 25th Street to learn more about one of LPS’s original focus programs.

The Career Academy (TCA) Information Nights: In-person on Oct. 10, 5:30 p.m. or virtually on Oct. 12, 5:30 p.m.

Located on Southeast Community College campus at 8800 O Street, TCA offers students an opportunity to pursue 16 different career pathways. Contact TCA Director Josh Jones at jjones7@lps.org for a link to the virtual session.

Science Focus Program - Oct. 19, 5-6 p.m. OR 6-7 p.m.

Stop by 1222 S. 27th Street to learn more about one of LPS’s original focus programs located inside the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.

The Career Academy (TCA) Open House - Oct. 22, 1-3 p.m.

Located on Southeast Community College campus at 8800 O Street, TCA offers students an opportunity to pursue 16 different career pathways.

Bryan College of Health Sciences Focus Program - VIRTUAL Oct. 24, 5p.m.

Learn about one of our new focus programs embedded at Northwest High School. Contact Director Jason States at jason.states@bryanhealth.org for a Zoom link.

Air Force Junior ROTC Information Night - Oct. 26, 5 p.m.

Located at Northeast High School (2635 N. 63rd Street), learn about this program designed to educate and train high school students in citizenship, character, and self-discipline while promoting community service and instilling personal responsibility.
