Humann Elementary School honored as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education

The U.S. Department of Education has named Humann Elementary School as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School. Humann learned about the honor last fall after going through a rigorous application and review process. The Blue Ribbon program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools. Honored schools are chosen based on their overall academic performance and their progress in closing achievement gaps. Humann was one of 297 schools selected in the nation. Humann became the tenth school within Lincoln Public Schools to earn the award since it began in 1982.

Humann Elementary School Principal Jamie Cook said about this honor:

“I see how the Humann staff have worked really hard to help students reach new heights in their academic achievement, even through the challenges of a pandemic. I witness every day our students pushing themselves and each other to be the best they can be. I know the Humann families have given their time and support to our staff and students to help them succeed. All of these acts together are the reason why Humann Elementary is being honored as a National Blue Ribbon School.”
