The Nebraska Educational Office Professionals Association has honored LPS Director of Library Services Dr. Chris Haeffner with its Educational Administrator of the Year Award. The mission of the association is to provide professional development and support for educational office professionals through networking, leadership, mentoring, recognition and fellowship.

The Nebraska Educational Office Professionals Association has honored LPS Director of Library Services Dr. Chris Haeffner with its 2021 Educational Administrator of the Year Award.

“Dr. Haeffner is the voice for libraries, librarians and literacy in our district. Driven by her firm belief that reading is the key to an intelligent and empathetic society, Dr. Haeffner has worked tirelessly to advocate for library programming in our schools. She highlights the amazing work of school librarians at district meetings, through video production and social media.”

“Dr. Haeffner is always supportive of professional development opportunities for all her employees. For office professionals, she allocates funds from the department budget to support attendance at local, state and national events, and as work schedules allow, will support attendance at events held during our work hours. She sets us up for success in our positions so that we can excel professionally.”

Proposal

That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution: 

WHEREAS, the Nebraska Educational Office Professionals Association has honored LPS Director of Library Services Dr. Chris Haeffner with its Educational Administrator of the Year Award; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chris Haeffner is a tireless advocate for school libraries, librarians and her department staff; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chris Haeffner is dedicated to making library services a vital part of the educational experience; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chris Haeffner has led efforts to ensure students continue to reap the benefits of school libraries during the pandemic; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Chris Haeffner is widely respected among her colleagues, both within Lincoln Public Schools and across the state and country;  

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln Board of Education

does hereby congratulate Dr. Chris Haeffner for winning the Educational Administrator of the Year Award from the Nebraska Educational Office Professionals Association.
