The Green Schools Recognition Program just wrapped up its fifth year! This program provides schools with a list of environmental activities to choose from and complete throughout the year. Each activity has a point value, and funds can be earned for reaching our green, greener, and greenest levels of achievement. We are thrilled to announce that over 230 green activities were completed from 18 schools for the 2020-21 school year!<\/span><\/p>

Just a few examples of the activities include: growing and working in school gardens, participating in community litter clean ups, hosting energy and water saving campaigns, posting Sustainability Tips in school announcements, and so much more! Through this program, LPS students were able to learn about the importance of environmental stewardship while participating in sustainability events that made them aware of how they can change their school and communities.<\/span><\/p>

Congratulations to the schools receiving sustainability project funding:<\/span><\/p>

Southeast High:
<\/span>53 activities worth 280 points, receives $500 as top earning secondary school<\/span><\/p>

Kahoa Elementary:
<\/span>45 activities worth 270 points, receives $500 as top earning elementary school<\/span><\/p>

Mickle Middle:
<\/span>35 activities worth 225 points, receives $200<\/span><\/p>

Park Middle:
<\/span>21 activities worth 155 points, receives $100<\/span><\/p>

Saratoga Elementary:
<\/span>17 activities worth 155 points, receives $100<\/span><\/p>

Irving Middle:
<\/span>9 activities worth 105 points, receives $50<\/span><\/p>

Everett Elementary:
<\/span>14 activities worth 100 points, receives $50<\/span><\/p>

Lincoln High:
<\/span>9 activities worth 100 points, receives $50<\/span><\/p>
