Thank you to all of the students, staff, friends and neighbors that participated. We added up your donation and $566 will be donated to school libraries.\u00a0 And thanks to our amazing new recycling partner, Green Quest Recycling, who donated $433 to bring it up to an even $1,000 going into our school libraries! SouthPointe Barnes &amp; Nobles rounded everyone&#8217;s gift cards up to the next $5 increment, and they also covered the 3rd place prize. We are so grateful for our community partners that make this program happen each year!\u00a0 We are excited for more books to be on school library bookshelves, and over 40,700\u00a0cans were recycled! Congratulations to our top schools\u00a0and prize winners:<\/p><p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6174\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/home.lps.org\/sustainability\/files\/2021\/03\/Cans4Books-Logo-300x300.png?resize=300%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/>1st Place &#8211; Huntington Elementary<br \/>938 pounds of cans recycled, $555 Barnes &amp; Noble Gift Card<br \/>Includes additional $75\u00a0prize<\/p><p>2nd Place &#8211; Hill Elementary<br \/>84 pounds of cans recycled, $120 Barnes &amp; Noble Gift Card<br \/>Includes additional $50\u00a0prize<\/p><p>3rd Place &#8211; Norwood Park Elementary<br \/>22 pounds of cans recycled, $65 Barnes &amp; Noble Gift Card<br \/>Includes additional $25 prize<\/p><p>Other participating schools who will also be receiving gift cards include: Dawes Middle, Everett Elementary, Hartley Elementary, Irving Middle, Mickle Middle, Park Middle, Schoo Middle, and Sheridan Elementary.\u00a0<\/p><p>The\u00a0Cans4Books program has reached over $44,000 donated to school libraries for the purchase of books since 2001.
