2018-19 Green Schools Recognition Program Results<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Green Schools Recognition Program is in its third year and has taken flight in schools across our district! This program provides schools with a list of environmental activities to choose from and complete throughout the year. Each activity has a point value, and funds can be earned for reaching certain levels of achievement. We are thrilled to announce that over 200 green activities were reported from 14 schools for the 2018-19 school year.<\/p>

These 200 green activities had a huge impact on our schools, students, and Lincoln community. Through the work of our schools some things that were accomplished included: 2,167 pounds of aluminum cans being recycled through the Cans4Books recycling drive, multiple schools improved their gardens and outdoor classrooms, students participated in community litter cleanups across the city, clothes were donated to Goodwill to be reused, and much, much more! Overall, LPS students were able to learn about the importance of environmental stewardship while participating in sustainability events that made them aware of how they can change their school and communities. The Green Schools Recognition Program will kick off again next school year and we encourage you to get your school involved!<\/p>

36 activities worth 240 points, receives $500 as top earning elementary school.<\/p>

Mickle Middle
41 activities worth 225 points, receives $500 as top earning secondary school.<\/p>

Prescott Elementary
20 activities worth 160 points, receives $100<\/p>

Pound Middle
11 activities worth 105 points, receives $50<\/p>

Southeast High
10 activities worth 105 points, receives $50<\/p>

Beattie Elementary
12 activities worth 100 points, receives $50<\/p>

Irving Middle
9 activities worth 100 points, receives $50<\/p>
