The Green Schools Recognition Program just wrapped up its seventh year! This program provides schools with a list of environmental activities to choose from and complete throughout the year. Each activity has a point value, and funds can be earned for reaching our green, greener, and greenest levels of achievement. We are thrilled to announce that over 180 green activities were completed from 15 schools for the 2022-23 school year!<\/p>

Just a few examples of the activities include: growing and working in school gardens, participating in community litter clean ups, hosting energy and water saving campaigns, participating in a PLC Day Sustainability Experience, posting Sustainability Tips in school announcements, taking class lessons outside, celebrating Earth Day, and so much more! Through this program, LPS students were able to learn about the importance of environmental stewardship while participating in sustainability events that made them aware of how they can change their school and communities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mickle Middle:
37 activities worth 220 points, receives $500 as top earning secondary school<\/p>

Kloefkorn Elementary:
30 activities worth 180 points, receives $500 as top earning elementary school<\/p>

Beattie Elementary:
18 activities worth 130 points, receives $100<\/p>

Kooser Elementary:
16 activities worth 130 points, receives $100<\/p>

Sheridan Elementary:
16 activities worth 125 points, receives $100<\/p>

East High:
11 activities worth 95 points, receives $50<\/p>

Norwood Park Elementary:
10 activities worth 90 points, receives $50<\/p>

Robinson Elementary:
12 activities worth 90 points, receives $50<\/p>

Calvert Elementary:
7 activities worth 75 points, receives $50<\/p>
