Recycling at home is a great way to build off and reinforce an activity that students undertake at school. The students recycle paper in their classrooms, but it would also be beneficial for them to see the regular recycling of plastic, glass, newspaper, and cardboard. Find your <\/span>nearest recycling drop-off site<\/span><\/a> located around Lincoln.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

LPS is excited to announce that it has a district-wide composting program. Students participating in the program have been learning about, and practicing, the process of composting food waste in their cafeteria. Composting can easily be done at home as well. The <\/span>City of Lincoln Composting website<\/span><\/a> that goes through the procedure of how to compost. For a hands-on, step-by-step explanation, there are also composting demonstrations at the Pioneers Park Nature Center on various Saturdays.<\/span><\/p>

Reusing or donating items is also a great way to reduce your household waste. Lincoln also offers information on where to donate items for reuse such as clothing, books, sports equipment, electronics and more on the <\/span>Lincoln Reuse website<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Recycle This!<\/span><\/a> quizzes kids on their recognition of recyclable materials and ability to sort them.<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>Super Sorter<\/span><\/a> game also reviews different recyclable materials and how to properly recycle.<\/span><\/p>

Recycling Quest<\/span><\/a> offers tips on how to reduce, reuse and recycle in order to help save the planet.<\/span><\/p>
