The test uses the same score scale as ACT Explore, making the system an effective tool to monitor academic progress and student growth. At Southwest all Juniors will take the ACT Assessment free of charge each April.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-662eafc elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"662eafc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Testing Information<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d558dfd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d558dfd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The ACT is provided at no cost every year for LPS juniors. This year&#8217;s test will be on April 7th, 2026. This test will include the writing portion. Specific room assignments will be sent to their LPS email inbox. Why?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7652\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7652\"><p>Your student can be removed for any of the following behaviors\/actions:<\/p><ul><li><em><u>in possession of or using electronic device during testing or breaks<\/u><\/em><\/li><li>looking back at a test on which time has already been called<\/li><li>looking ahead in the test booklet<\/li><li>using a prohibited calculator (see the ACT website regarding\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/dam\/act\/unsecured\/documents\/ACT-calculator-policy.pdf\">Calculators<\/a>\u00a0by clicking on the link). Calculators issued by the Lincoln Southwest High School Mathematics Department are acceptable for the ACT. Or, as the ACT site states, to make it even easier to figure out, you are not required to use a calculator at all.<\/li><li><em><u>using any device to share or exchange information at any time during testing or during break, including cellular phones<\/u><\/em><\/li><li>using a calculator on any test other than the Mathematics Test<\/li><li>attempting to remove test materials, including test questions or answers, from the test room by any means<\/li><li>using highlight pens, colored pens or pencils, scratch paper, notes, dictionaries, or any testing aids not authorized in advance by ACT<\/li><li>not following instructions or abiding by the rules of Lincoln Southwest High School<\/li><li>filling in or altering ovals on a test after time has been called on that test. Filling in or altering ovals on a previous test during a later test, even with the test booklet closed, is prohibited. If a proctor notices that a test has not been completed and later notices that it has been, the proctor will dismiss the student and the student\u2019s answer document will not be scored.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-7653\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7653\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed fa fa-plus\"><\/i>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened fa fa-minus\"><\/i>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">What should my student bring with him\/her?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7653\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7653\"><p>Your student should bring soft #2 pencils (2-3), a calculator accepted by ACT (see the ACT website regarding Calculators by clicking on the link, and note that calculators issued by the Lincoln Southwest High School Mathematics Department are acceptable for the ACT), and your student\u2019s ID. Additionally, students are not allowed to possess food or drink of any kind (except for approved medical reasons).
