For help with ParentVue go <a href=\"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/cs\/parentvue-lps-parent-portal-for-student-information\/#:~:text=Go%20to%20your%20school's%20web,the%20top%20of%20the%20screen.\">here<\/a>!<\/p>\n<h2>Parent Night Presentations<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1qS6AzL7uKA_4L0sQfExFMQ0Sqk6p3pu_s4yWmptNw7I\/edit#slide=id.g59899f81a2_1_1508\">9th\/10th Grade Meeting<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1JzVc44GQBYSf9C4gpF8a8o5Kxfg0UBHj6IZl_QPzCPM\/edit#slide=id.g59899f81a2_1_1508\">11th Grade Meeting<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1WgkjetfGrSvW00NHQu_-GHocDSojl7Z-gvuPxgBH-6w\/edit#slide=id.g59899f81a2_1_1508\">12th Grade Meeting<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Study Skills<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Basic study skills can help students;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stay organized<\/li>\n<li>Retain information learned in class and at home<\/li>\n<li>Avoid having to cram for tests<\/li>\n<li>Raise their grades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Below are strategies and resources for students to improve their study habits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How parents can help<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a place where your student can study that;\n<ul>\n<li>is quiet<\/li>\n<li>is a large flat surface like a desk or table<\/li>\n<li>has access to power for a chromebook<\/li>\n<li>is distraction free<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enforce consistent bedtime routines including\n<ul>\n<li>Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day<\/li>\n<li>Taking away screens at night<\/li>\n<li>Setting an alarm in the morning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Provide your scholars with all the materials they need<\/li>\n<li>Check your scholar\u2019s work to see what they did and if there is anything left to finish<\/li>\n<li>Remind your scholar to check their school email<\/li>\n<li>Remind your scholar to charge their chromebook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Questions to ask your student<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are you keeping track of your assignments and dates of tests in a planner or on a calendar?<\/li>\n<li>Have you reviewed what you learned today by;\n<ul>\n<li>Checking your planner or calendar to see what you need to complete that night and what to prepare for the next day or later in the week?<\/li>\n<li>Doing your homework?<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing your notes?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Can you summarize what you learned today?<\/li>\n<li>Do you understand? Can you answer the objectives the teacher provided for your lessons that day?<\/li>\n<li>When you don\u2019t understand, are you asking questions?\n<ul>\n<li>If you have a question while working outside of class, are you writing it down so that you can ask it later?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Do your homework<\/li>\n<li>Ask questions during class, before school, after school, and by email when questions arise.<\/li>\n<li>Teach someone else what you have learned.
