Honors Convocation – February 24th @ 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, February 24th, at 7 p.m. Standing Bear High School will host an Honors Convocation recognizing 9th – 12th  graders who are on Honor Roll and have earned an academic letter.   Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the event will be hosted in the main gym.  Upon entering the main gym, students will pick up name cards that identify the recognition they will receive.   Students will be seated in bleachers facing their audience.  We will have signs directing them to their locations and spots.  

Information has been sent home to parents/guardians letting them know which honor their student(s) will receive.  

Students will be recognized for the following:  

Honor Roll: Students with a weighted semester GPA of 3.5 to 3.749. 

Honor Roll with Distinction: Students with a weighted semester GPA of 3.750 to 3.999. 

Honor Roll with High Distinction: Students with a weighted semester GPA of 4.000 to 4.249. 

Honor Roll with Highest Distinction: Students with a weighted semester GPA of 4.250 and above.

Academic Letter: Students need 2 consecutive semesters of a 4.0, or better, weighted GPA. The GPA is based on grades from individual semesters, not a student’s cumulative GPA. Students must have at least 25 hours of GRADED (receiving a letter grade, not S) coursework per semester. Students who receive an INC, U, or F in any class that semester are not eligible.

Academic Pins:  After earning an academic letter, the student needs  2 consecutive semesters of a 4.0, or better, weighted GPA.
