Reading is so important during the first five years of life.\u00a0 Below are some helpful sites about the value of literacy and some suggestions for improving the literacy of your child.<\/p>\n

Tips for choosing books for children:<\/p>\n

  1. Young children love word repetition and rhyme<\/li>\n
  2. Tactile (touch) books\u00a0 involve more of the child\u2019s senses<\/li>\n
  3. Colorful books help increase mental development and enjoyment of reading<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Many city libraries create ready-made packs of children\u2019s books:\u00a0 books on colors, books on animals, books on the alphabet.\u00a0 Let your child pick out a set of books.<\/p>\n
