When applying, families will use tax information from the prior year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EducationQuest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EducationQuest helps students and parents file their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). There is no charge for any EducationQuest service.<\/p>\n<p>An EducationQuest specialist will be at North Star every other Tuesday, beginning on October 31st. Students can click the button below to sign up for an appointment slot.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.10to8.com\/book\/lincolnnorthstar\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1797\" src=\"http:\/\/home.lps.org\/lnscounseling\/files\/2023\/10\/sign-up.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"293\" height=\"88\" srcset=\"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/lnscounseling\/files\/2023\/10\/sign-up.jpg 436w, https:\/\/home.lps.org\/lnscounseling\/files\/2023\/10\/sign-up-300x90.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 293px) 100vw, 293px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Appointments can also be made with the downtown EducationQuest office at 475-5222.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Students need to bring all necessary Federal Tax copies and W-2&#8217;s, and other required items from the FAFSA checklist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>FAFSA Main page \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seniors who seek to apply for the <strong>Buffett Scholarship <\/strong>must plan to <strong>complete their FAFSA well before <\/strong>the <strong><u>February 1<\/u><\/strong><strong>st <\/strong><strong>deadline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Seniors planning on attending UNL, UNO or UNK are encouraged to call the counseling center or EducationQuest to set up an individual FAFSA appointment prior to April 1st to meet the priority FAFSA priority filing dates for those schools.<\/p>\n<p>FAFSA priority filing dates for the following Nebraska schools:<\/p>\n<p>UNL\/UNO\/UNK &#8211; April 1st<br \/>\nChadron State &#8211; February 1st<br \/>\nPeru State \u2013\u00a0 March 1st<br \/>\nWayne State &#8211; April 1st<br \/>\nSCC &#8211; July 1st<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FAFSA Changes The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application opens in December.
