The LHS Marching Band Camp is a 2 week camp that happens 3 weeks before students return to school.<\/p>\n
Open to all students interested in color guard, wind, and percussion playing. \u00a0The marching season runs from the end of July through mid November.\u00a0\u00a0Attendance at the mandatory meeting in the spring, as well as participation in band camp are required for students to hold a spot on our team.\u00a0\u00a0Auditions for marching percussion and color guard are held in the spring of the previous school year.\u00a0 Following the competition season and Veteran’s Day parade, this group moves indoors and takes a new name (Concert Band) as we dive into our concert season (see course description on this page).\u00a0 The LINKS Marching Band performs at all home football games and typically about 4\u00a0Saturday\u00a0contests in the fall.\u00a0 This group (renamed as Concert Band) will have a winter concert in December.,<\/p>\n
The Symphonic Band is a performing ensemble class that is open to all brass, woodwind, and percussion players.\u00a0 The band studies and performs concert symphonic band literature from a variety of music historical periods and the traditional symphonic band repertoire. It is also the course\u2019s goal to create an atmosphere of thoughtful reflection and critical thinking and to foster a community in which students respect the music, the ensemble, and each other. Performances outside of the school day are usually part of class expectations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
