When completing a college application or scholarship, you may be required to request a letter of recommendation from someone that knows you well and can speak favorably about you. This person cannot be related to you. Sometimes you will be able to request this letter from a teacher, coach, former employer, etc of your choice. Sometimes the recommender has to be a school counselor or administrator. You will need to provide information to this adult before they can write a good letter about you.
