The term \u2018well-rounded\u00a0education\u2019 means courses, activities, and programming\u00a0in subjects such as English, reading or language arts,\u00a0writing, science, technology, engineering, mathematics,\u00a0foreign languages, civics and government, economics,\u00a0arts, history, geography, <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>computer science<\/strong><\/span>,\u00a0music, career and technical education, health, physical\u00a0education, and any other subject, as determined by the\u00a0State or local educational agency, with the purpose of\u00a0providing all students access to an enriched curriculum\u00a0and educational experience.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of teaching computer science is NOT to make all students into programmers or engineers. \u00a0The purpose is to give students \u00a0the opportunity to learn about computer science so that they can be well-rounded consumers of technology. \u00a0If it whets their interests in computer science and they want to learn more&#8230;that&#8217;s fantastic!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is some exciting news for Computer Science&#8230;.
