Scott students support local charities at Make A Difference Fair

Scott Middle School sixth graders impacted the lives of many people this spring with their educational focus on local charities.

The Stars held the school’s 13th annual Make A Difference Fair in the gymnasium. The event showcased the culmination of a three-month project where students researched social problems and learned about the work of local nonprofit organizations. They then created exhibits about their chosen charities that featured background information, brochures and ways for the public to get involved.

Scott Middle School teacher Eric Nelson said the goal of the project was to educate the community about the various charities and raise funds for the organizations. Students invited the public to attend the fair, view the presentations and make donations through the Lincoln Community Foundation.
