Silver Hawks support local pets during fundraiser

Members of Southwest High School’s National Honor Society chapter created many smiles for pets across Lincoln on Feb. 22. The Silver Hawks collected more than $800 of pet items for the Capital Humane Society during a three-hour fundraiser. Area residents gave them a wide range of items such as pet food, collars and leashes, puppy house training pads, cat litter, toilet paper and cat and dog treats. Southwest students then brought the items to Capital Humane Society representatives for them to disperse to the community.
