substitute teacher applications described below<\/strong>\u00a0to select the position you are\u00a0<em>eligible<\/em>\u00a0for (do not apply for more than one).<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>Local Substitute Teachers<\/strong> are those that have a Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) Local Substitute License. To get this license, you need to have completed 48 semester credit hours and fulfilled the Human Relations Training Requirement set by the NDE.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Link to the:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/hr\/local-substitute-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LOCAL SUB APPLICATION PROCESS<\/a><\/strong><\/p><p>*If an LPS Superintendent Letter is necessary for your NDE application, please reach out to subteach@lps.org.\u00a0 (Note: it will not be necessary for most applications)<\/p><ul><li><strong>Certified Substitute <\/strong><strong>Teachers<\/strong>\u00a0are individuals who hold a minimum of a bachelor\u2019s degree in Education\u00a0<strong>and<\/strong> have a Nebraska teaching certificate. Accepted Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) Teaching Certificates are: Professional, Standard, Initial, and State Substitute.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you hold a certificate from another state other than Nebraska you will need to contact the Nebraska Department of Education to obtain a Nebraska certificate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Certified Substitute<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Teachers \u2013 LPS Current, Former, or Retired Teachers<\/strong> are individuals who have been hired as certified employees (LPS current or former) with Lincoln Public Schools. Must have a valid Nebraska teaching certificate. (This application does not require information that is already within the employee\u2019s file or retaking the Gallup survey as part of the application process.)<\/li><\/ul><p>Only complete applications will be processed and can take up to 4-6 weeks to finalize. Incomplete applications will be reviewed every two weeks and will be closed if still incomplete. Orientations will be held via Zoom on the following dates:<\/p><h4>Local Substitute Orientation Schedule:<\/h4><ul><li><strong>January 6th, 2026<\/strong> \u2014 1:00pm to of a substitute teacher incentive to reward your hard work and dedication.<\/p><p><strong>Each month you can receive a $150 bonus<\/strong>, if you choose to substitute on all of the Mondays <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">OR<\/span> all of the Fridays in that month.<\/p><table style=\"height: 242px\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>EXAMPLE:<\/strong><\/td><td>\u00a0<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sub every\u00a0<span>Monday<\/span>\u00a0school is in session, August<br \/>8\/12, 8\/19, 8\/26<\/td><td>$150 bonus<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Sub every\u00a0<span>Friday<\/span>\u00a0school is in session, assignments.<\/p><p>We will be running a report each month to identify those who reach each criteria and payment will be added to the next pay check automatically without any additional notification daily rate of pay for subbing at the following locations:<\/p><p><strong>Elementary Local Substitute Rate: $173.85 + $29 = $202.85<\/li><li>Daily Certified Substitute Rate: $192.12 + $29 = $221.12<\/li><\/ul><p>These rates can also be in addition to a long term subbing assignment pay. 2025-2026 Example:<\/p><ul><li>Long Term Local Substitute Rate: $173.85 + $18.38 + $29 = $221.23<\/li><li>Long Term Certified Substitute Rate: $192.12 + $18.38 + $29 = $239.50<\/li><\/ul><p>Our goal is not that we would experience higher unfilled rates at other buildings.
