Spelling Instruction for Parent handout<\/a><\/p>\n

In grades 4 & 5\u00a0 the spelling lists in CKLA are designed to support the instruction in the classroom. Some spelling lists will be focused on morphology (the study of meaningful word parts) and contain a common prefix, suffix, or root word. Other spelling lists will be focused on content-specific words that align to the unit being studied.\u00a0 Because of the tight connection to the classroom instruction all students use the same spelling list unless use of a modified list is written into a\u00a0 student\u2019s IEP.\u00a0 In CKLA there is not a spelling list for every week of the school year.\u00a0 I will be sure to communicate with you when a list is coming home and when the assessment over that list will happen.<\/span><\/p>\n
