There are multiple resources available to support families, staff, and building communities as they work with the diverse populations represented in Lincoln Public Schools.
Bilingual Liaisons: work in Federal Programs to support schools and staff on a daily basis and cultivate relationships between families and schools. Often Bilingual Liaisons serve as cultural brokers to help us learn about our population’s diversity.
Bilingual Interpreters: work on an individual and hourly basis with buildings as needed for translations, often times during parent/teacher conferences or SAT/MDT/IEP meetings. Find it on the staff directory page or click the link found here!
Working with Interpreters: It is important for staff to understand the roles of parent, teacher, and interpreter during meetings with families who speak a language other than English. Please find these guidelines to help you through this process.
