Staff Spotlight: A Conversation with An Do

Greetings Friends!

This month we have the opportunity to meet Teacher, An Do! An is a relatively new member of Educare Lincoln, and feels really good about the role she plays here for children and families. As a matter of fact, she actually feels right at home. An grew up in Vietnam where her family owned and operated their own childcare center. And an even deeper connection is that both her parents and even her “grandpa’ were teachers. So, needless to say, An’s role at Educare Lincoln puts her right at home where her passion meets her natural talent!

I asked An what she enjoys most about early care and education, and she responded, “That parents are the first educators”. This is an idea that Educare Lincoln supports, as they have a team of Family Engagement Specialists focused on engaging the parents in the education of their child(ren). An prescribes to this idea of “parents first” because she genuinely enjoys working with them, and supporting them in continuing education in the home.

From a more personal standpoint, An is a person who doesn’t settle for good enough. If she wants to do something, she wants to do it really well, or not at all. A way of thinking and practice that I am certain her parents can appreciate. Along with doing things very well, An loves to read, and places a high value on honesty and consistency.

In three to five years An hopes to be continuing and growing in her work here at Educare Lincoln. And that is great news for Educare Lincoln families. An’s experience, dating back to her childhood center in Vietnam, will certainly prove fruitful for Educare Lincoln, and they just might need three to five years together to uncover it all!

Buckle in everyone!
