Today began with lectures and labs all about the projects happening and what types of research and technology is being used to understand the processes of stone tool making and fossilization processes.
One lab had us working on stone tool making as proxies for the real thing. Another lab had us taking human data for the human bio team. The bio team will be working directly with the Daasanach community on water scarcity, energetically and stressors.
After the lectures we finished our project ranking in order to report which project, in my case projects, we want to participate in. Chelle, the other educator here on the trip, chose 4 different research projects to work with and eventually turn into lesson plans.
Project pairings were announced and we began supper with sprite, coke, or orange Fanta as a treat. We also found a cool tortoise and very large scarab.
