Day 6: lecture, skills acquisition, lesson plans and presentation pitch

Today began with breakfast then 3 stations in which we rotated through, two of which were skills based. In station 1 we worked with survey equipment to map out a 1X1 meter by 10 cm deep test square with random objects in it. The objects simulated artifacts in a dig site. We all practiced taking positional readings of all objects as well as the call and response necessary for redundancy of data collection. Another skills station allowed us to use our mammal survey counts over the past couple days to calculate a biodiversity index. We had separated out grassland versus bush land for the count.

Lastly Chelle and I had time to finally plan for lessons and select the research projects we will work with to develop lesson plans.

UPDATE. I GOT MY LUGGAGE LATE IN THE EVENING SO I AM HAPPY!!!!!
