The program services are delivered by student-parent teams in every middle level and secondary building. \u00a0The program includes:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Center Based Services:<\/strong> \u00a0Childcare offered on site at the high schools during the school day in our Student\/Child Learning Centers (SCLC). \u00a0Students are actively involved in the care of their child as their academic schedule allows. \u00a0This program is offered at \u00a0Bryan Community, Lincoln High, Northeast, and North Star High Schools.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Parenting Class:<\/strong> \u00a0All middle and high schools have an opportunity to be enrolled in a parenting class. \u00a0During this class student parents learn about child development, parenting skills, and community resources. \u00a0If the student has their child enrolled in a SCLC, Two days per week the students apply what they have learned by doing activities with their children in the Student-Child Learning Center. \u00a0The parents are required to be enrolled in the parenting class each semester they utilize the center. \u00a0Students receive credit for this course.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Home Based Services:<\/strong> \u00a0Home visitation is provided by a Student Parent Advocates beginning when the student parent is in the prenatal stages. \u00a0Student Parent Advocates work with pregnant and parenting teens that are not utilizing the Student Child Learning Centers. \u00a0They offer parenting skills, child development and information about community resources. \u00a0The advocates meet with the families on a weekly basis, as well as, offer monthly group events for participating families.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Related Links<\/h2>\n<ul>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1RkN-nK4fYDJCwkcDgiYr26BJYypRiyfF\/view?usp=drive_link\">Student-Parent Program Brochure<\/a><\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dhhs.ne.gov\/Children_Family_Services\/AccessNebraska\/Pages\/accessnebraska_index.aspx\">Access Nebraska\/DHHS<\/a><\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dhhs.ne.gov\/Children_Family_Services\/AccessNebraska\/Pages\/accessnebraska_index.aspx\">Si<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.singasongofsixpence.org\/\">xpence<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Student-Parent Program Mission Statement The Lincoln Public Schools Student-Parent Program, in partnership with the larger community, is to assist pregnant and\/or parenting youth to attain independence and self-sufficiency through enhanced educational, health, social services, vocational, and parenting opportunities.
