DECA Attends Central Region Leadership Conference
DECA students from Lincoln East, Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Southwest recently traveled to Milwaukee, WI for DECA’s annual Central Region Leadership Conference. Students joined 2,000 plus other DECA students from the central region to grow as students, leaders and professionals. Students were given a unique opportunity to time to learn about business and industry through tours at Sprecher Brewery, WeEnergy, Harley Davidson, Miller Park, BMO Harris Bradley Center, Kohls and Bayshore Shopping Center. Students were welcomed to the conference during the opening session led by Chris Bashinelli, , a host and executive producer of the television series ‘Bridge the Gap’. Chris shared a message of the “global stoop” and challenged students with a new way of looking at the world. Students participated in several workshops led by industry experts representing the Milwaukee Bucks, Facebook, Culvers, Manpower Sprecher, Kohls and several others. The tours and workshops focused around tracks in the areas of Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Retail, Travel & Tourism, Entrepreneurship & International Business, Advertising & Social Media, and Industry & Design. Bed Seidman, featured on Travel Channel & A&E networks, closed the conference with comedy, fascinating story and world-renowned sleight of hand.
