The pointer changes to a camera\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/library\/content\/dam\/edam\/applecare\/images\/en_US\/macos\/macos-mojave-screenshot-window-inline-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" \/>.<\/li>\n<li>Click anywhere on any screen to capture the screen of that display, or click Capture to capture the screen of every display.<\/li>\n<li>The image will appear on your desktop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Capture a Window<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Click Capture Selected Window\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/library\/content\/dam\/edam\/applecare\/images\/en_US\/macos\/macos-mojave-screenshot-menu-window-inline-icon.png\" alt=\"the Capture Selected Window button\" width=\"24\" \/>. Your pointer changes to a camera\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/library\/content\/dam\/edam\/applecare\/images\/en_US\/macos\/macos-mojave-screenshot-window-inline-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" \/>.<\/li>\n<li>Click a window to capture that window.<\/li>\n<li>The image will appear on your desktop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Capture a Selected Portion of the Screen<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Click Capture Selected Portion\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/library\/content\/dam\/edam\/applecare\/images\/en_US\/macos\/macos-mojave-screenshot-menu-selection-inline-icon.png\" alt=\"the Capture Selected Portion button\" width=\"24\" \/>.<\/li>\n<li>Drag to select an area of the screen to capture.\u00a0To move the entire selection,\u00a0drag from within the selection.<\/li>\n<li>Click Capture.<\/li>\n<li>The image will appear on your desktop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*<em>By default, all screenshots are saved with the name &#8220;Screen Shot\u00a0<strong>date<\/strong> at\u00a0<strong>time<\/strong>.png&#8221; on your desktop.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Recording the Screen<\/h3>\n<p>Users can also quickly record either the entire screen or select windows from the new Screenshot tool. Select the desired recording function, and choose from the following options in the &#8220;Options&#8221; dropdown prior to recording.
