{"id":6864,"date":"2021-05-06T15:36:38","date_gmt":"2021-05-06T20:36:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/?p=6864"},"modified":"2021-05-06T15:36:38","modified_gmt":"2021-05-06T20:36:38","slug":"lps-announces-changes-to-match-new-nebraska-dhm-on-student-self-quarantines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/2021\/05\/06\/lps-announces-changes-to-match-new-nebraska-dhm-on-student-self-quarantines\/","title":{"rendered":"LPS announces changes to match new Nebraska DHM on student self-quarantines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On May 5, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced changes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/dhhs.ne.gov\/Documents\/LLHD-DHM-May%206th-2021.pdf\">Directed Health Measure<\/a> on requirements for school students who are identified as close contacts to a positive case of COVID-19 in regards to self-quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>Effective immediately, if a student is identified as a close contact with a positive case of COVID-19, they must do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appropriately wear face coverings in public for 14 days following exposure, <strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Practice social distancing, <strong>and<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Self-monitor twice daily for fever and other symptoms listed below for 14 days and have no symptom development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Please note:<\/strong> if a student is unable to wear a face covering fully over their mouth and nose, they will be required to self-quarantine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the student develops the following symptoms within the 14 day period, then they will be required to move into self-isolation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fever of over 100.4<\/li>\n<li>Onset of shortness of breath or difficulty breathing<\/li>\n<li>New onset of dry cough<\/li>\n<li>New onset of loss of taste or smell<\/li>\n<li>Chills longer than two hours<\/li>\n<li>Congestion and\/or runny nose<\/li>\n<li>Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea<\/li>\n<li>Sore throat<\/li>\n<li>Headache<\/li>\n<li>Muscle Pain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If anyone who is self-monitoring develops or has any COVID-19 symptoms, or answers yes to any of the questions above, they will need to stay home and contact their healthcare provider letting them know about a possible exposure to COVID-19 at school.<\/p>\n<p>Lincoln Public Schools will continue to contact families of students identified as close contacts and provide them with instructions on self-monitoring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On May 5, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services announced changes to the Directed Health Measure on requirements for school students who are identified as close contacts to a positive case of COVID-19 in regards to self-quarantine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3442,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[17],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-6864","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-public"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6864","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3442"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=6864"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6864\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":6867,"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6864\/revisions\/6867"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6864"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=6864"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/coronavirus-master\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=6864"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
