For real property acquisition it would impose a two-thirds approval level and for bonded indebtedness incurred for new school construction and the furnishing of school buildings it would require a 55% supermajority voter approval.<\/p><p>The longstanding practice of voter approval by simple majority is fundamentally democratic in principle and we believe that this threshold should be maintained.
