Blair-Broeker Excellence in Teaching Award. This award recognizes the best high school psychology teachers in the country. She is one of only three teachers in the country to win the award this year. Herting teaches Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate psychology at Lincoln High.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42822ce elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"42822ce\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Explanation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9a27eae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9a27eae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The American Psychological Association has honored Lincoln High School teacher Lindsey Herting with the Charles T. Blair-Broeker Excellence in Teaching Award. She\u2019s one of only three teachers in the country to win the award this year.<\/p><p>LPS Assessment\/Evaluation Specialist Rob McEntarffer and K-12 Social Studies Curriculum Specialist Jaci\u00a0Kellison nominated Herting for this award. Here\u2019s what they said in their nomination letter:<\/p><blockquote><p>\u201cNot only is she a strong leader when working with teachers, she also creates positive working relationships with teachers from other schools. Through her patience, experience and willingness to listen and collaborate, she has earned the respect of psychology teachers throughout Lincoln Public Schools, in Nebraska and across the country.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote><p>Former student Olivia Haller said this about Herting:<\/p><blockquote><p>\u201cMs. Herting is one of those teachers who stands out because she embodies more than just the title of teacher. Other descriptors that come to mind are mentor, ally, advocate, teammate, friend.\u00a0You would be hard pressed to find someone as authentic, dedicated and passionate as Ms. Herting.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4cef202 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4cef202\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Proposal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-46e7d42 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"46e7d42\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution:<\/p><p>WHEREAS, the American Psychological Association has honored Lincoln High School teacher Lindsey Herting with the Charles T. Blair-Broeker Excellence in Teaching Award; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, this honor sets her apart as one of the top high school psychology teachers in the country; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Lindsey Herting has established herself as a highly respected and admired psychology teacher not only among her colleagues at Lincoln Public Schools, but among her teaching colleagues across the state and country; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Every year, Lindsey Herting serves as a valuable mentor to new psychology teachers at Lincoln Public Schools; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Lindsey Herting instills in her students a deep appreciation and understanding of psychology;<\/p><p>NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln Board of Education<br \/>does hereby congratulate Lindsey Herting for winning the Charles T.
