The Nebraska Thespians Society has honored Lincoln Southwest High School Director of Theatre Bob Henrichs with its 2020-21 Nebraska High School Theatre Teacher of the Year Award. The Nebraska Thespians Society is a chapter of the Educational Theatre Association, which sponsors the International Thespian Society. As an educational honor society, the Nebraska Thespians Society is dedicated to encouraging and improving the skills of theatre students throughout Nebraska. Henrichs was recognized in January during the Nebraska Thespian Festival.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Nebraska Thespians Society honored Lincoln Southwest High School Director of Theatre Bob Henrichs with its 2020-21 Nebraska High School Theatre Teacher of the Year Award.<\/p>

Here\u2019s what Southwest English teacher Brandi Benson said about Henrichs:<\/p>

\u201cBob has a way of taking all of these different people who come from all different places with all different backgrounds and he truly forms a family out of them.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Here\u2019s what Southwest Technical Director Scott Engel said about his longtime colleague:<\/p>

\u201cSome of the things that make Bob such a great teacher and a great person is his work ethic to be the best, to put on the best, to produce the best possible product that our program can produce. It\u2019s always amazing to see what he can get out of our students.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

And here\u2019s what Southwest senior Emerson Eveleth had to say about her teacher:<\/p>

That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution:\u00a0<\/p>

WHEREAS, the Nebraska Thespians Society honored Lincoln Southwest High School Director of Theatre Bob Henrichs with its 2020-21 Nebraska High School Theatre Teacher of the Year Award; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Bob Henrichs instills a passion for theatre in his students; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Bob Henrichs has nurtured a welcoming and inclusive culture within the Southwest High School Theatre Department; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Bob Henrichs has established the Southwest Theatre Department as a model of excellence for other theatre departments across the state; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Bob Henrichs not only teaches his students to reach their full potential as performers but also as people; \u00a0<\/p>

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln Board of Education<\/p>
